You Are Not Alone We Have All Been There
Here in Job 4 we read of Eliphaz speaking to Job. He reminds him that Job has been there for others and now he is dealing with things. What a great reminder that even the greatest people go through things. You're not alone.
Our Fire-starter thought is your not alone we have all been there from Job 4
Sometimes we see the most spiritual person on the planet and we say they never go through anything or we even act surprise when we see them struggle. Can I remind you today that sometimes the roles change in a person's life. What do I mean by that? Hopefully Eliphaz's answer will answer this question.
Notice with me verses 3-4.
Job 4:3-4 KJV
Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands. [4] Thy words have upholden him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees.
Eliphaz reminds him that he has helped those by his words, care and his actions.
His words- he instructed many,
Can I remind you this morning that the ones that give counsel need counsel.
See alot of times we go to people that have instructed us in certain areas and we say, this person is who I trust and they seem to never go through things.let me encourage you that they are human just like you are and they need to be instructed just like you and I need instruction.
Pastors go through things and oftentimes its not shown because they hide it well but they still go through things and they need counsel, instruction, from others. Even though they give instruction they need instructed sometimes.
His care- thou hast strengthened the weak hands
Someone that cares will not leave someone hanging, or struggling. Oftentimes we see weakened hands due to the enemy and the one with weak hands feels like giving up yet they need someone that will encourage them
"Our ministry ought to be the edification of the believer not delivering those to the deceiver."
What do I mean by this our actions show what kind of person we are. If we are not strengthening the weak hands we are not doing what we need to do. Our words are very important but how we care for people is more important.
People don't care how much you know they just want to know how much you care.
How can we reach a world we never touch how can we show them Christ if we never show them love just to say we care will never be enough the songwriter said
It was the maid that said o that my master were with the prophet
It was Elijah that came with the Shunamite woman to heal her son
It was Jesus that grabbed Peter sinking in the water
It was Jesus that met the Samaritain woman at the well
It was Mary and Martha that cared for Lazarus so they called the Savior
It was Paul that cared for Felix and Aggrippa's soul
His words again- kept people in the race
You know someone that wants to quit have you ever thought about quitting?
I've been there Job was there and Eliphaz had to remind him you have been the one to uphold someone that was falling.
Stay faithful, you've got this, if you need to talk come to me. Now the tables have turned. Job needs someone to talk to, Job needs someone to uphold him and can't find one
His actions- strengthened the feeble knees
Oftentimes our care is shown by our actions. Job showed he cared by helping others out
Let me ask you this morning, do you know someone that is going through something? If so be that friend that has words to instruct and uphold, show that you care and do something to help them out. Why? Because we all go through things and you might just need someone to do the same for you.
What goes around comes around. If you ain't there today, you possibly will be there tomorrow set the right example.
Hope you have a great day
Job 4:1-21 KJV
Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said, [2] If we assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? but who can withhold himself from speaking? [3] Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands. [4] Thy words have upholden him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees. [5] But now it is come upon thee, and thou faintest; it toucheth thee, and thou art troubled. [6] Is not this thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways? [7] Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being innocent? or where were the righteous cut off? [8] Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same. [9] By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his nostrils are they consumed. [10] The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken. [11] The old lion perisheth for lack of prey, and the stout lion's whelps are scattered abroad. [12] Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a little thereof. [13] In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falleth on men, [14] Fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones to shake. [15] Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up: [16] It stood still, but I could not discern the form thereof: an image was before mine eyes, there was silence, and I heard a voice, saying, [17] Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker? [18] Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly: [19] How much less in them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, which are crushed before the moth? [20] They are destroyed from morning to evening: they perish for ever without any regarding it. [21] Doth not their excellency which is in them go away? they die, even without wisdom.
