Where God Guides He Always Provides

Justin Baker • February 23, 2026

Trusting the Lord to provide can be testing but we must have some Jehovah-Jireh moments. In the little and big things.

Genesis 22:14 KJV
And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah–jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

Last week we studied on how the mountain was the place where a sacrifice was made but I want to mention today how the Lord provides.

You see on the mountain top is where there were provisions. Don't get me wrong, we have provisions in the valley but the mountain tops are bare and need provisions as well.

Abraham on the mountain stated in the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.

What a great reminder of what we see in the mountain.

During my valleys God has provided so much but when I am on the mountain and everything is going my way I must remember God supplies there too.

Too often we say everything is good so why should I need to look to God for the blessings. Look around and see the bareness of the mountain. Is there water to drink from? Is there family to help? Is there grass growing? I think not. You are more susceptible to grow weary on the mountain than you are the valley.

We need Gods provision on the mountain top.

Abraham didn't say that he didn't need the Lord he said God provided.

Have you seen the mountain and have you seen what God has done on the mountain.

On Calvary our Savior died. This mountain was there to make provision for all mankind to go to Heaven. Jesus gave his life so we could live. He became sin for us. (2 Corinthians 5:21) he made provision! Hallelujah! God has provided and he will continue to provide on the mountain.

Remember friend in your journey of this life there will always be a need for God's provision because without me ye can do nothing. (John 15:5)

Thank God for the provisions in the valley but never forget to praise him for how he has provided on the mountain.

I read a quote the other day that has really stuck with me and it was if you haven't gotten out of the valley you are in there is still some good that needs to be worked out. What a blessing to think about that.

Remember, the mountain top needs the provisions of the Lord just like the valleys do.

Think of Mount Calvary and all that happened on that day to save us. Think of our blessed Redeemer!
