James 1:22 exhorts us to be doers of the word. Notice what it states.

James 1:22 KJV

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

 Many have been hearers and not doers. The problem with the average Christian is we like to hear the Bible but we do not like to do the Bible. 

Many have a problem with following Christ because of the change and the effort it takes with following him. 

Are you following the Shepherd so far this year? Are you as close as you want to be to him? 

Many like to follow Christ from a far distance. They love hearing about what he can do but they do not want to experience it for themselves because of the change that it will make it their life. 

Purpose this year that you will draw closer to the Lord simply because you can be as close to him as you want to be or you can be as far away from him as you want to be. 

Lastly, is your life an example to follow in a good sense? 

I love what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 11:1 KJV

Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

Can you say follow me as I am following Christ? 

Are you setting a good example for the ones seeking for an example to follow after? 

May God help us to live in him this year because it is all about him.
