We have been in Psalm 1 over the past several days. We have studied the blessed, happy man now it is time to study into the ungodly man. 

The ungodly, wicked, man will live ungodly!!! They will do the opposite of the things that a Godly man won't or will do. 

There are always the two sides, the Godly and the ungodly. They are opposite of each other. In fact, if you notice the first phrase of verse four you will see what I mean. Notice the first part of verse four. 

(4) The ungodly are not so:.....

The reference for the first part of verse 4 is very simple. In fact everything you see in verse 1, 2, and 3 are found in the ungodly person. What the blessed, happy man does they do opposite. 

The ungodly man will 1.)take counsel from an ungodly man 2.) stand and continue to stand in the way of sinners 3.) You can always find them in the seat of the scornful 4.) Not read the Bible 5.) Bring fruit not worth eating after. 

If you notice Galatians 5: 19-21

Galatians 5:19-21 KJV

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these ; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, [20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, [21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

 If you were to compare the fruits of the Spirit to the works of the flesh you will find the works of the flesh are almost double to the fruit of the spirit. 

I know many Christians that have lived an ungodly lifestyle. What do I mean by this? They have done the exact opposite of what the blessed, happy man would do. 

Notice the next phrase:.... but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

Chaff is Husk, or dry calyx of corn, and grasses. It is so easy for the wind to move them. They are moved every which way. They are the "easy believe it" type, they have no foundation. In fact, Matthew 7 starting in verse 24 deals with those that are on the foundation and on sand.

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: [25] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. [26] And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: [27] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. [28] And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: [29] For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

Unlike the ungodly man, the blessed and happy man has an unshakable foundation: Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 3:11 KJV

For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

A blessed, happy man will always consider standing before Jesus Christ one day and give an account for everything he has done. On the other hand, an ungodly person doesn't care!!!! 

Psalm 1:1-6 KJV

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. [2] But his delight is in the law of the Lord ; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. [3] And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. [4] The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. [5] Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. [6] For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
