The Blessed "Happy" Man pt.3

Justin Baker • February 3, 2023

We have studied the First two parts of being a Blessed "Happy" Man. First thing is we do not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, Secondly, we do not stand in the way of sinners. notice the third thing about the blessed "Happy" Man in today's Fire-starter

If you choose to do the things that the blessed man will choose not to do I promise you will not be a blessed man or woman If you choose to walk in the counsel of the ungodly or stand in the way of sinners, you will not be a happy camper.

The third thing in this verse is....nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Have you noticed a trend? the ungodly will always go from walking to standing and from standing to sitting. You will find yourself walking with them to become like them then you will find yourself a part of them hindering them from getting right with God then you will be sitting with them and doing the things they are doing

A blessed "Happy" man will not sit in the seat of the scornful! We are living in a day where a lot of our so-called "Christians" are mocking other Christians. A Christian can sit in the seat of the scornful if he or she hangs around the crowd too long. A blessed "Happy" man will stay away from the scornful seat.

Just because someone doesn't do something like you or the way you would do it doesn't mean they are doing it wrong it just might be they are doing it the way they feel they need to do it.

We can scorn the contemporary groups for what they are doing but we sure don't want someone scorning us for what we are not doing.

What does scorn mean? Scorn means to laugh at, to mock. We can mock, we can laugh at other groups but don't get offended when they mock and laugh at you.

I think it amazing how many people I hear mocking and laughing at others while they are trying their best to get the gospel of Jesus Christ out and the ones that are sitting in the seat of the scornful are doing nothing. Do you know why that is? Answer!!!!! Because they are SITTING!!!!

Remember those that are sitting are not working, they are not doing anything productive, they are not moving forward. In fact, they are even where they were at the beginning or they have moved their chair further and further back.

A rocking chair comes to mind when I think about someone who is always scornful. They are in the same chair but moving in the wrong direction, backwards! They only time they move forward is when the chair comes that direction just so it can get momentum to go back again.

Friend sitting in the seat of the scornful is no fun and will not be found in a blessed. happy, person's life. If you have this seat, I encourage you to get out of it and burn the chair so you can't sit back down in it.

Let's review!

1. A Blessed, Happy, Man will not walk in the advice from an ungodly man.

2. A Blessed. Happy, Man will not stand in the way of sinners.

3. A Blessed, Happy, Man will not sit in the seat of the scornful

How is your life looking today? Is there room for improvement? Why don't you take a few moments and ask the Lord to help you improve on these things?

Psalm 1:1-6 KJV

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. [2] But his delight is in the law of the Lord ; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. [3] And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. [4] The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. [5] Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. [6] For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
