Notice our text for today:

Ezekiel 29:16 KJV

And it shall be no more the confidence of the house of Israel, which bringeth their iniquity to remembrance, when they shall look after them: but they shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

Israel was known to rely on Egypt way too much. The land of Egypt had been a source of trust to them. We know Egypt is a type of the world, and Canaan is a type of the Christian life that we must live. In Canaan, they had everything they needed because the Lord had provided for their needs. Sadly, just like the Israelites, there are many who are still trusting in their old paths to bring them out.

Friend, it is better to trust the Lord than to put confidence in men.

Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to do what? Trust in the Lord with all thine heart. Why do we not trust him? Psalm 118:8-9 tells us it's better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in men and princes.

When they traveled from Egypt to the promised land, they complained and wanted to go back to Egypt. Why? Because they trusted in Egypt too much.

Friend, how much are you trusting the Savior this morning? How much are you replying on him.

The songwriter wrote, "Tis So sweet to trust in Jesus. The last verse says I'm so glad I learned to trust Him.""

Question: Have you learned to trust Him? Are you still having a hard time trusting the Savior?

Before me and the young lady i was dating broke up. It was a while before she actually trusted me, and it may be you have been hurt by sin, and you have a hard time trusting in the Lord. Today would be a great day to start trusting him.

"Simply trusting Jesus, that is all!"
