Today is January 1, 2024 and we have a whole year ahead of us by the grace of God. 

Have you ever rode down the road when it was turning dark? I'm sure all of us have. We turn the headlights on or automatically they turn on. We may take our sunglasses off because they are no longer needed during the night time. 

1. Always shine brighter than the world is dark. 

Obviously this is a duh statement but how many of us like to live around darkness and so we barely show our light simply because we like what the darkness gives us? 

Matthew 5:16 tells is to let our light shine. 

2. Remember there are critters to watch out for

Satan, As a lion, will try to devour you this year keep guard especially in the dark. 1 Peter 5:8

Many people see deer and other animals roaming at night that is why it is important to be always on guard and watch for their tactics and moves. 

Ephesians 6 gives us the materials to fight the Devil and the world and the flesh. 

3. Always remember you are not strong enough to face temptation yourself. 

Many times we rely on our own strength but we must rely on the strength of the Master. 

Yield not to temptation, for yielding is sin. 

It's not a sin to be tempted, but it is a sin to give into temptation. 

4. Stay close to the light of God's word 

Psalm 119:130 tells us that the entrance of thy words giveth light. 

When we are on a dark path remember his word will always light the way
