The double minded king asked privately is there any word from the Lord? I wonder with so many churches that have been without a pastor for so long if they are like this king? Preacher is there any word from the Lord? As Jeremiah stated to the king there is!

You see what Jeremiah the prophet preached was not hearkened to by the people or the king. The king was to reign in Jerusalem because he was placed there by the king of Babylon at the time; King Nebuchadnezzar.

Three ways to tell you have a double minded man in your presence.

1. When they are under a double minded influence (Jeremiah 37:1)

A double minded man will ultimately use you to destroy you.
     A.) Zedekiah wouldn't listen to Jeremiahs message (verse 2)
     B.) When times got tough Zedekiah requested for Jeremiah's prayers (verse3)
*****notice the priest couldn't pray to God. He had to be sent to the one that could get to God.*****

If the king that makes you king is double minded you might follow in their footsteps. Young preacher be very careful sitting under a pastor that is double minded because you may just end up like them.

Zedekiah was a double minded king, listening to the false prophets openly while bringing in the Word of God secretly.

2. When they openly embrace the false and secretly want to be acquainted with the truth.

There are much reasons to believe we are living in the last days and the reason we know this is because of the people heaping to themselves having itching ears( 2 Timothy 4:3)

A double minded person will always hear both sides and be your friend in both cases. That means they can have Fellowship with someone that is not of God and then turn around and have Fellowship with the brethren but keep both of them separate.

While Zedekiah was fellowshipping with the false prophets he also wanted to Fellowship with the real prophet.
He knew as I stated earlier who to go to when the times are tough. He knew Jeremiah had God on him but why did he not want to openly embrace Jeremiah?
   a.) He might have been scared of ridicule from those closest to him
    b.) He might have lost friends over it

Sounds like a lot of people! They can't make their mind up either to serve God or serve mammon. God says you can't do both.

Zedekiah didn't want to obey the truth he just wanted to be acquainted with the truth.

There is our problem in this day and hour but with that there is a responsibility.

Someone asked me one time why I didn't ask alot of questions when they talked about something i had no idea about. I said in return the less I know the less I am responsible for.

Zedekiah is now responsible not only for knowing the truth and the false but also for trying to embrace both.

Remember you are responsible for what you do. Don't associate yourself with the false and the truth. You can't be a fence teeter totter. The more you are in tune with God the less you will want to be around sin and the more you are around sin the less you will want to be around Christ.

Zedekiah had this problem of fence teetering. Do you?

3. When they will listen for a moment to you and then listen to your enemies. (Jeremiah 37:20-38:6)

King Zedekiah had such a double mindedness about him that he ended up having no authority about him. What a shame.

When a man says he is the head of the home and then let's his wife run the home it will be found that that man is double minded and has no authority in the home. (I'm not married but have heard enough preaching on the home and how it should be run and also have been with pastors with them dealing with this very subject)

When a pastor is double minded he eventually will end up losing authority over some because he just gives in to anything! God help us!

You can tell when parents are double minded when they tell their kids no in front of their spouse and then do opposite away from them.

Don't make enemies in the ministry, in the work, or in the home. Make a Godly influence. Be the difference in the home, church and work.

A double minded man is unstable in ALL his ways!!!!!!
