Paul's letter to today's church
What if the apostle Paul wrote a letter to today's church? Would it possibly read as follows?
Paul's letter to the church of today.
Dear church of______,
I am writing this letter to you because it has been relayed to me that the church has become asleep. I remember standing before kings and pharisees and telling them what God had done for me but the message I am getting from my messengers is that you don't care about your city anymore because you are asleep and need to awake to righteousness. I remember being beat and left for half dead, I remember the shipwreck I was in and having to come to land by a piece of the ship while you are upset because the AC is not working properly and the sound system don't work half the time and you call that suffering, my friend, you have no idea what suffering is.
I would travel miles to give the gospel while you have a whole tract rack full of gospel tracts to give out but you don't have time to leave one on the gas pump while you wait 5 minutes while pumping gas, or you can't pull one out of your purse or wallet while you are pulling money out to pay.
Yes, many people may not like your message but God didn't call you to be popular, he called you for a purpose and with a purpose. He didn't call you to live comfortably, but live in content. He didn't call you to raise money for the church, he called you to bring your tithes and offerings to the church.
Church, if you can't support yourself, you don't need the world to support you. It's time for you to awake and get going for the Lord is coming again and it is soon. Remember what I told the church at Thessalonica in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18. That we know that the Lord is coming back and we should comfort one another with these words but please church remember don't get too comfortable.
As brother James said in his epistle in chapter 4 therefore to him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not to him it is sin.
I call you to wake up and repent. The day of our Lord is coming and it is approaching quickly will he find you in sin or clean?
I hope to come unto you soon but I hope you will continue to grow in grace.
Salute the brethren,
Paul.
