OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND!

It is very easy to forget something when it is not in front of you all the time. I am guilty of forgetting things myself because the things are not right in front of me all the time.

Have you ever walked in a room and forgot what you were going to do? We all have haven't we? I visited my home church last night and it was a joy to be there. When I showed up one of the ushers said to me, jokingly, " I kept looking in the obituary to see if your name was listed since we haven't heard from you in a while." This had me thinking about all the folks that are forgotten simply because they are out of sight out of mind.

How many folks are truly forgotten because they land in a nursing home? How many faithful church members, due to illness, are no longer able to come to church and are often forgotten?

What if someone forgot you? you were not at church so someone forgot to pray for you, someone forgot to check on you. My how this hits home to me. Simply because I have had the forgotten syndrome. Someone asked me to pray for them and I forgot, or God laid on my heart to send someone a text and i didnt and then later forgot about it.

Out of sight, out of mind! God help us to be better with our memory.
