Job Was A Great Man Because Of pt. 3
Job as we have seen was great because of his stand and his servitude now we will see because of his sifting. Hope you will be helped from it.
Our Fire-starter comes from Job 1. Our Fire-starter thought is Job was a great man because of
We all have those when it rains it pours moment. I've had several of those in the past several years and one thing I have learned it isn't any fun. One thing is for sure, the trials and troubles we go through are to make us stronger.
Every trial and trouble we go through is like a brick with mortar its hard but when it dries it becomes strong. The more bricks you have the stronger your house will be. I've often heard my grandma tell me of the house that she lived in, which is still standing, withstood hurricane Hugo back in 1989. This house is next to my house, now being remodeled, still stands strong why because of the bricks and morter that has settled in its place and have become strong.
Jobs trial would either make him stronger or it would make him weaker. The same thing is for you, the trial and trouble you face will either make you stronger or it will make you weaker.
Job is the prime example that just because you are a Christian doesn't mean that you will not go through things. Everyone goes through things whether young or old spiritual or non spiritual the greatest and the least go through things.
What was so special about Job? Why was he so great? If you notice where his trials and troubles landed him. It sure wasn't in the bar living it up, it sure wasn't leaving his family to go for a better life, and it didn't take him going to take on more and more jobs just to make ends meet. I'll tell you where it landed Job, where it should land all of us and that's on our knees.
"The strongest place in our body should be our knees."
You may ask, why is that supposed to be the strongest part in our body? Simply because, when we are on our knees we can see him high and holy and lifted up.
There is a song called No Not One and I believe the second verse states it best.
No friend like him is so high and holy
No not one, no not one
And yet no friend is so meek and lowly
No not one, no not one
Job fell down upon the ground and worshipped. Can I ask you a question, when you are going through your trial do you worship during it? Job is right in the center of messenger after messenger and he fell upon the ground and worshipped.
Some of us would be considered no great Saint by the way we handle our trials and troubles.
How would you handle your sifting? Every trial and trouble is to build us up but sometimes we are the ones that hinder the building from happening may God help us.
Job 1:13-19 KJV
And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house: [14] And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them: [15] And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. [16] While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. [17] While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. [18] While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house: [19] And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
