I've Been Serving For How Long?
When you love what you do or even better you love the person for whom you work for time does not seem long.
Genesis 29:20 KJV
And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her.
I have often been in places where it seemed I had arrived the day before and 3 to 5 days have passed. There have been times when I was there for only a day or two and felt like I was there for 2 weeks and couldn't leave no matter what I did.
I have been in both situations. What was different? The love of the place, the place itself, or me? Sadly the answer is me.
Many times we can say that we have been in the same situation with family gatherings, church services or being with friends.
To determine how much we love something is to find out how much we enjoy it.
The question is do you still love what you do? I am not asking if you like what you do because you can like something and not love it.
See Jacob loved Rachel that's why it didn't seem long to him to serve seven years, even though he served fourteen total.
I serve my master because I love him and the longer I serve him the sweeter he grows the songwriter said and how true.
Have you lost your love for the master?
Have you found yourself finding it a duty rather than a service to serve him?
It is easy to become complacent with all the things around us hurling at us but we must remember to serve the Lord because we love him.
How much do you love Jesus?
I think about my spiritual birthday and I think wow its been that long since I got born again?
Back in 2023 I thought it's been 20 years since I got born again, wow, its been that long?
You will be amazed at how much time goes by when you serve him because you love him.
Thoughts to ponder on
Do you need to do a check up on your service and why you are serving?
Are there some areas in your life that needs improvement?
Are you serving because of duty or desire?
In what area can you show your love to God in? Whether it be serving him in the church, nursing home, or door knocking.
Let's show others how much we love Jesus and how much Jesus loves them!
