Fire Starter 6.18.22

Justin Baker • June 20, 2022

Good morning, our Fire-starter comes from 1 Chronicles 16. I know we
were in this chapter just the other day but I want us to see a few more
things about this psalm or song. Our Fire-starter thought is: psalm or song
Notice the three things we looked at from Verse 8.
1. Give thanks unto the Lord
2. Call upon his name
3. Make known his deeds among the people
Notice several more thoughts in verses 9-12
1. Sing unto him
How often do we sing just to be heard by others?

Sometimes the best songs I sing to my Lord is when I am by my self. I
can make songs personal. I can sing songs like his name is wonderful but
instead of saying “his” you can say “your” speaking about our Savior.
Why is that? You are singing unto him if it’s a song about him and you
are singing it to him truly make it personal!!!!

Sometimes we often sing just to be heard from men. Maybe we need to stop
being heard from men and start  singing to our Heavenly Father.
We are more concerned about a performance than we are about our Provider!!!
He’s done so much for us we ought to sing unto him
He continues to say sing psalms unto him.
There were many psalms as you can read the book of Psalms and David said
sing Psalms. Don’t just sing to sing, sing something that means
something to you.
2. Talk ye of all his wondrous works

God has done so much wondrous things for us has he not?

How did God provide for this need or that need or how did he answer this
prayer or that prayer?

He is a wonderful Savior. Instead of bragging on how wonderful you are,
brag on how wonderful he is!!!!
Verse 10
3. Glory ye in his holy name
   To glory means to boast

I have nothing to boast about.
I think about the song, how deep the fathers love for us and the last
verse says,
I will not boast in anything no gifts no power no wisdom but I will
boast in Jesus Christ his death and Resurrection.

Justin Baker can’t boast in himself, and you can’t either because John
15 states for without me ye can do nothing. We must remember all glory
belongs to the Lord
Verse 11.
4. Seek the Lord
    a.) The Lord
His guidance, his wisdom, his understanding, his will
   b.) His Strength
We need his strength because we are weak.
I believe we don’t realize how weak and how frail we really are.

We can’t do anything without the Savior! We can’t breathe without him,
we can’t walk without him, we wouldn’t be able to talk or hear without
him, we wouldn’t be able to keep our heart pumping!!!
We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without him, I know I wouldn’t!!!
     c.) Seek his face continually

God told Solomon in 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people ….will seek my face….
The Bible says Seek the Lord while he may be found.
Verse 12.
5. Remember!!!
    a.) His marvelous works
    b.) His wonders
c.) His Judgments of his mouth

Remember what God has done!!! He has done so much!!!!
Hope you have a wonderful day of victory!!!
