Fire Starter 5.31.22
Good morning, our Fire-starter comes from 1 Chronicles 2. Our
Fire-starter thought is: what one thing are you known for?
Our Fire-starter verse is verse 7.
Once again we are reading the genealogy. I know it can get boring
reading name after name but I want to show something here.
All of us are known for one thing whether it’s what we do or what we
have said, some kind of action has made a difference in someone’s life
whether good or bad. In the list of genealogies you find many different
names that have done things but I want us to focus on Achan or Achar as
mentioned in this chapter.
Achan was told like the rest of the men in Israel do not touch the
accursed thing in Jericho (Joshua 7). He doesn’t listen and now when
someone says Achan everyone knows who they are talking about. Achan is
once again mentioned in this chapter as a man that troubled Israel. Also
a man that has transgressed.
I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t want it to be said of me that I
troubled America. I know Christians, as a whole, have caused troubling
on our nation but can you imagine you being the reason why your family
is going through what they are going through. But then on top of that
being called the one that transgressed in the accursed thing.
What’s the accursed thing in your life that God has told you to stay
away from? Are you staying away from it? Achan didn’t stay away from it
and it cost him and his family. Think about the one thing that you are
known for. I would hate to be the one reason someone doesn’t come to
know Christ because of one thing that stood in my path that they saw and
turned them away from Christ forever.
Hope you have a great Day!!!!
