Even Crayons Can Be Used Broken
Brokenness is key to the Christian life. The more we are broken the more Christ can flow out of us. May we learn the simple truth of this.
Christ liveth in me is a song that was written by D, W. White. What a great hymn that has been written for us today. If you do not know this hymn I encourage you to look up the song and listen to it. It will bless your heart.
Back in the mid July of last year I attended the funeral of a man that I did not know. The man that had passed away was kin to a man in the church I help every month. As I took part in the service there was a pastor there that had known the man and the family and I was encouraged by the pastor. I will never forget what he said to me, Keep the faith but don't keep it to yourself. This phrase has spoken volumes to me.
In order to get Christ to come out of our life we must live with a broken attitude. What do I mean by this? If Christ would break us of bitterness or even anger or resentment how much more can we be used?
Consider a child with a broken crayon, he may cry because the crayon is broken but it doesn't mean it still cannot be used. It may not be used to the full extent that it was used at one point but there is still a job for you to do.
God uses broken people spiritually to see revival, God uses broken people to see answers to prayer, God uses broken people to see the Church go forward. If there is pride in our heart or things that will stand in the way of us being used. God help us to be broken this year.
Also, another aspect of this is that sometimes the reason we are broken is simply because of sin. There are people that will not be effective as they once were simply because of sin. Doesn't mean they can't be used but they may not be able to used in other ways,
when someone has disqualified themselves God has to break them but doesn't mean they have to quit the ministry it just means they can not do certain things.
We can all be a witness, we can all share our testimony, we can all tell how good God is to us.
We may lose out on blessings but that doesn't mean we don't get blessings because even if we lose out on blessings God still is good to us.
Remember broken crayons can still be used and are useful!!!!
