Why Is The Resurrection So Important?

Justin Baker • April 21, 2025

I hope you had a great resurrection Sunday yesterday. Let's talk about why we celebrate the resurrection.

We know Jesus came and died for our sins, but there was one more thing he needed to do to seal the deal, as it were, and that was to rise again.

The Bible gives the prophecy of his resurrection in Matthew 12:40. Notice the verse

Matthew 12:40 KJV

For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

We must understand he needed to rise again for our complete salvation.

If he had not risen from the dead, he would have been like all the other false gods, and we would not have salvation, but i am glad he showed himself as the true and living and only God when he rose again.

Go to the tomb of Buddha or Mohammad, and you will find them there, but if you go to the tomb of the Lord Jesus, you will find it empty as Matthew 28:6 tells us.

I encourage you to read 1 Corinthians 15 sometime today or this week. It will be a blessing to you.

Share why Jesus came with others!!!!

Just as God told those at the tomb to spread the word of his resurrection, we must share the news with everyone.

Thank you for reading this fire-starter devotional!
