Notice what Genesis 19:1 states.

And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;

Notice the phrase

Genesis 19:1 KJV - and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom:

When you study what the gates of the city represent and that is where legal transactions were made.

The Bible states that Lot sat in the gate of Sodom. Although Lot was in political power, he didn't have spiritual influence.

Many people in our city, state and country who run for office put money, power and achievements before being a spiritual leader. We all are spiritual influencers whether for good or evil. We either influence people to do evil or to do good. Depending on how we live as a christian.

For Lot, he had influence not for good but for evil because when it came to having to leave the city his own family didn't heed the words of Lot.

God has given us the great privilege of voting in godly leaders, but not only that also pray for the leaders. (1 Timothy 2:1-4)

I want to encourage you to pray for our leaders that they will do what is right.

There are good well meaning people in this world who are not looking at the spiritual wellbeing of a nation, a state, or a city. Many are only looking for the political power and that's all.

We do not need well meaning people in office we need someone who is willing to stand and fight Satan and the forces of evil day in and day out to protect our country from spiritual decay. We need godly leaders not good well meaning people.

God give us leaders who will call on thy name!
