Genesis 19:1-11 KJV

And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; [2] And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night. [3] And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat. [4] But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: [5] And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. [6] And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, [7] And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. [8] Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof. [9] And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door. [10] But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door. [11] And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door. 

We are living in a time where homosexuality is prevalent. Lot has some guest that arrive to take him out of the city, by the mercy of God, and bring him to safety as they destroy Sodom.

Sadly, Lot was not a good witness for the Lord because he could have told the men of Sodom about the God of Heaven, but instead he chose rather to live pleasing man than pleasing God.

The men of Sodom came to "know" the guest that Lot had. These men was not wanting to have a conversation with the guest to know a little bit more about who they were. They were wanting to have a relationship with these men.

By the way, this was in the open and they were not ashamed at all of what they were doing.

Friend, America is in the same position. We have leaders who are more concerned about the dollar and winning a position in congress or the senate more than they are concerned about the spiritual state of our nation.

America has openly embraced Homosexuality and other sins like drinking and smoking and intimate relationship with dating. People openly embrace a person who changes genders and tries to play in the league of the gender they changed to. Friend, the same sins of Sodom are happening today in America.

The heart is truly coming out in believers and in the Lost. The Bible states in Jeremiah 17:9 that our hearts are desperately wicked. Man's heart is to do evil continually that is why we must ask the Savior to create in us a clean heart 

May we pray for America and our leaders.

Gods people need to wake and go for the glory of God. On the way home a song was playing that I've listened to before and thought about it as I was writing this devotional. The songs talks about being pictures of grace.

Even though our hearts are deceitful and wicked we can praise the Lord that he takes the dirt, the wickedness out and makes pictures of grace.

We will study that later when Lot leaves Sodom how grace became not just talk for him but reality.

Do you have a heart of grace today? To whom much is given, much is required.

May God give us a clean heart as the psalmist David said.
