Out Of All Of Them, There Came One!
Many go with the majority, but it is the minority that is normally doing something.

Genesis 14:13-16 KJV
And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram. [14] And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan. [15] And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus. [16] And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.
We saw last week how Lot was taken because of where he chose to live. It wasn't the best choice, but that is the choice he made for his family. Today, I want to dwell on the one that came and told Abraham about Lot and how he was taken.
Notice verse 13 And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram.
This one knew to come to Abraham for help. I don't know how he knew to go to Abraham, but I do know he went to Abraham.
Notice that he is unnamed.
This man was not looking for accolades, applause, or approval from others. He was just looking to get help for others.
Sadly, in this day and hour, there are a lot of people who do things just to get noticed or recognized. This one didn't!
The majority wants recognition while the minority wants to be a help to others.
Notice he has an aim; a goal!
His goal is to get the message to Abraham.
Do you have a goal? Do you have an aim in life?
The majority wants to go with the flow, while the minority wants to be different.
One thing about churches today, including all denominations, is they want to be a part of the majority, not the minority.
They want to go with the flow on certain issues because they do not want to stand alone. The Bible states how one said to David that Bathsheba was Uriah's wife. The majority didn't come out and say anything, but once again, an unnamed person stands up.
Someone needs to change from the side of the majority to the minority. Do you have a purpose?
Daniel had a purpose according to Daniel 1:8, and that was he was not going to defile himself with the kings meat nor with the wine that he drank.
This one had an aim, a purpose. Do you?
I want to encourage you to live with a purpose.
This one accomplished what he intended to do.
I want to be the one who accomplishes what I intended to do.
You notice no one else made the commitment to go tell Abraham, but this one.
You may be the only one who accomplishes what is set out to do.
While everyone else followed the majority, there was one who got things done.
People often times go with the majority so they do not have to do a lot of work, or they do not have to stand alone.
Remember to stand up for Jesus! One escaped and went and told Abraham, one said to David that's Uriah's wife.
Will you be the one? Let's stand up for Jesus.
