No Names Who Did Great Things PT. 2
You do not need a well known name to do great things for the Lord.
There are three individuals who are not named in these three passages of Scripture. The first one is find in 1 kings 17 where God uses a widow to feed Elijah.
She did a great thing by providing for the Man of God in his time of need.
You may not be known for all you do for the Man of God but there might be a need you can meet unnoticed.
Have you done something for the Man of God lately? Have you given him something without being noticed?
She met the needs of the Man of God at the moment when he needed it.
There have been times when I have needed something and God met the need through an anonymous person. I have no idea who it was but they have done a great thing.
The second person I would like to mention is found in 2 kings 4 where the shunamite woman is named. You may ask, what was her name? The shunamite woman.
She and her husband provided a place to stay for the Man of God when he traveled through.
They were a blessing in means of providing a place. We are living in a day and hour where preachers are wanting the most fanciest hotels, or travel trailers yet God may want them to be content. I have stayed in what I call prophet chambers and they have been a blessing to me.
It may not have been a big house with all the luxuries but it had a bed a bathroom and a shower and a table for me to study. What a blessing!
You may not have a place for the Man of God to stay but think of things you can be a blessing to him. Go unnoticed and your work will not go unnoticed!
The third person is found in 2 kings 5 where was a captive that was a maid to an honorable man's wife. Her name is called the little maid.
She was in captivity. She could have been bitter about her situation but instead she was caring about others. Her name will forever be in our Bible as the little maid but her work will always stand out in the test of time.
May we care about others. Our Savior cared about others we must too.
Friend, you may not be known down here but God knows exactly who you are and what you have done for him. Your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
