Identifying The Preacher Haters!!!!
Stand by the man of God, don't try to go against the Man of God!
Jeremiah 43:1-13
Introduction: I've been in ministry for several years now and have been around alot of Pastors. There are pastors that are hated for what they preach and sadly, there are pastors that are hated because they engaged the hatred by the way they act and how they are not attentive to their churches needs.
As I was reading and studying God's word this morning I couldn't help but notice some preacher hating characteristics and I want to share them with you.
(I.) they always get mad after the preaching is done (verse 1-2)
They are the last to show up and the first to hit the door at the Amen. Why? Because they know that the preacher is going to hit on some sin that is in their heart.
May I say, if the pastor is one hundred percent right with God he need not to change his message just because you walked in. God can bring you to conviction about sins that preacher is not even preaching on. But a preacher hater will ultimately say it's your fault.
(II.) They always find people that will join their group (verse 2)
Normally there is not just one preacher hater there is a few and they all travel in groups.
These men were prideful men
(III.) They deny the Man of God has been in the closet with God when they have not been in the closet themselves (Verse 2)
They say things like God has not sent thee to say this or that.
If people would just clean their garden of weeds the preacher wouldn't have to hoe it for you.
Most times, not all the case, the preacher is more in tune with God than you are.
I heard about a preacher that had someone in his church that came in late and this person walked in and as soon as they walked in the preacher said, the Lord just changed my message I will be preaching on _______.
Pastors and preachers, I want to speak to you for a minute. Don't change your message that you have prayed over all week just because someone is doing something you don't approve of. Let God bring those things up not you!
(IV.) They blame others for your message by saying they told you to preach that because they don't like us. (Verse 3)
Baruch has told you to say this.
Very seldom do I preach what a man has asked me to preach. When I mean seldom, I mean seldom. If I have preached a message somewhere and a pastor ask me to preach it at their place that's how seldom it is.
Just because you tell the pastor about everyone else's sin doesn't mean he is going to preach on everyone else's sin. God might just have him preach on your sin.
It's funny how they can say someone else told him about my sin when they like to point everyone else's sin out.
(V.) They will eventually by force lead themselves and others into a captivity that they would not be in had they listened. Also, they will lead themselves to death. (Verses 4-13)
Took all the remnant.....verse 5
Captivity would come 7-13
Let me say this in closing that no matter how you put your preacher in bondage he can still get a hold of Heaven.
While you are busy playing big boss, the preacher will be talking to the Boss!
You can act like you have won by bringing your preacher to your captivity but remember the message ain't going to change just because you have changed!!!!
