God's Order Of The Home!
We are continuing our study from last week on the home. We noticed points one and two. Now lets look at the rest.
3.) The response to the head from the household. Versed 4-5
The father is the head of the home and what he says goes.
In todays society, everyone is is trying to play the head of the house and there is confusion on who to listen to.
That is why children when they get their way at home expect to get their way at school and church and everyone else is the bad people.
Let me remind you that most of the time the way the home goes is the way they will act in public.
Everything they do in public is a lot of the time a reflection on the home in private!
This was not a problem for Jacob's household. They have listened to the head of the house and now we see
4.) The power of God on the household. Verse 5
....and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them...
Because they were following the command of their father, Jacob, as he was following the command of God they were blessed.
A home that follows God will be blessed by God!
5.) The head of the home is at the altar. Verse 7
The issue of today is most of the father's in this world and even in America are going to church on Sunday morning with no desire to have a walk with God through the week.
Jacob is at the altar. I want to encourage every father to make an altar at home. Have family devotions and you be the leader of them. Don't let your wife or your children lead the devotions. You are the head of the household and you must lead your family.
My dad was a great dad, he worked hard to provide for our family, went to church and did alot of fishing. ( i got to go several times with him)
I remember one day he brought everybody in the living room and stated that he needed our forgiveness for not leading the home as he should. There were alot of tears and that day he stated we are going to read the Bible and pray as a family.
We started that but the main key to the story is that my dad implemented it. We were not the ones to say ok we need to do this or that. My dad was the one who made the decision to which I am thankful.
Lets get the home in order if its out of order today and see how God will bless it.
