Everyone Has A Story. What Will Be Written About You?
We are all writing the story of our life. We hold the pen, but others will hold the book one day.
Genesis 10:8-12 KJV
And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. [9] He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD. [10] And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. [11] Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah, [12] And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.
In Genesis 10, we find the generations of Noah. I couldn't help but think of those who were after him and what they did. We read of how Nimrod was a mighty hunter. We know his Kingdom was in Babel, and then he built several cities.
The main thing I want to point out is that everyone has a story. Nimrod's story is in the Bible, as you read yesterday. Others in the Bible, like Noah, Job, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David, have their stories written in the Bible.
What will your story say? Will it affect others. Some have said that we may be the only Bible someone ever reads. May we represent Christ in every way.
Many people know how we are at work, church, and in the community, and they read our life, whether it is one that is a fraud or a real.
I wonder how people are reading you and me. Are they reading a sincere Christian who loves the Lord and wants to serve him, or do they see a sometimes Christian who wants to serve the Lord only when things go well?
Others are always watching and reading our lives, and may they see and read Christ in us. How they read your life and my life could affect how they approach the house of God.
Nimrod, we only have several things about him, but his story is in there for a reason. You are living your life for a reason, and may that reason be lifting up Christ.
What does your story include?
Thank you for reading today's fire-starter devotional. If it was a blessing, please pass it along to someone. Also, if you have a prayer request, please send it to
