Genesis 37:15-17 KJV
And a certain man found him, and, behold, he was wandering in the field: and the man asked him, saying, What seekest thou? [16] And he said, I seek my brethren: tell me, I pray thee, where they feed their flocks. [17] And the man said, They are departed hence; for I heard them say, Let us go to Dothan. And Joseph went after his brethren, and found them in Dothan.

Israel has given a task to Joseph, the one he loves, and it is to go find his brethren and bring back k a report.

Now we learn in our text that they were not where they were supposed to be at but thank God for the unknown man who heard where they said they were going. We find that Joseph was the wanderer and the man sent him to the place to find what he was looking for.

There have been times where I have found myself wandering around town or in an area that I am not familiar with and someone will help me. Unlike normal men sometimes I do not mind asking for directions because most the time I am on a time schedule.

By the way, that would keep us from wandering all the time.

The thought here is someone told Joseph the wanderer where to go find his brethren.

1. He heard where they were going

I understand this is talking about Joseph's brethren going to a different area but if someone knows where they are going or can tell you how to get somewhere then you may want to listen.

I know many folk who are going to Heaven but they leave the wanderers alone to figure it out themselves. God help us!

We have gotten to the place of my four and no more when in all reality God wants everyone to be saved. (2Peter3:9)

At least this man didn't leave Joseph wandering nor wondering.

2. He refused to not withhold the information to Joseph

Remember Joseph is on a mission to find his brethren and this man is here to help Joseph complete his mission

Are you helping others complete their mission?

Why were we placed on this earth? If it is God's will for us to be saved then it is our mission after we are born again to tell others about Christ.

If you were a homeless person and you found a ton of food would you not want to share it with the other homeless?

If you are Saved you were lost at one point and we must be willing to share with someone how they can be saved.

This man probably thought, if i was wandering like this boy is I would want someone to help me find where I was going. I am going to help him.
Luke 6:31 had not been written yet but he chose to do what it says. That is a verse to look up and memorize.

3. He was able to find his brethren

Now we know the story of how it ends from there but he was able to find his brethren only because someone helped him.

I wonder if there is a wanderer in your path today? Could you help someone stop wandering and help them find what they are looking for.

Joseph was without peace at the moment. You say how can you tell? They did not have life360 app or cellphones and he is looking all over the place and he found peace by finding them.

Lets point people the Peace Speaker. His name is Jesus.

I remember as a younger man, I still am a young man, not finding my mom before church and I was not comfortable and people at the church aided me to find my mom. Here's what happened I was a wanderer when someone gave me information.

Everybody ought to know who Jesus is the songwriter said. May we help a wanderer today.
