Genesis 33:5 KJV
And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are those with thee? And he said, The children which God hath graciously given thy servant.

God had blessed Jacob with children and when met by his brother, Esau, he said they were given graciously from God.

Whether you have one child or 19 children, they are a blessing from the Lord.

When you, as a parent, look at your children you ought to be reminded of how God has blessed you.

Think for a moment of how God entrusted children to you for you to raise. Many have missed the mark in that area, I hope you are not one of them.

When God graciously blesses you with children remember:

1. You are there to teach them the Word of God.

You can claim that that is the churches responsibility but really from the beginning its your responsibility to train up the child.

Proverbs 22:6 KJV
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

2. View them as a blessing not a burden.

Psalm 127:3 KJV
Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

Children are a blessing not a burden. Whether you are a youth pastor, Sunday school teacher or a parent remember children are a blessing.

3. Remember you must be a child of God in order to go to Heaven.

Matthew 18:3 KJV
And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 19:13-14 KJV
Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. [14] But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

If you are not saved trust Christ today.
