Amen, Jacob,Me Neither!

Justin Baker • May 18, 2026

Amen means to agree with or so be it.

Jacob says something in our text that we all can say Amen to.

Genesis 32:10 KJV
I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast shewed unto thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands.

We all can say that we are unworthy of a lot of things.

We are unworthy of life, health and strength. We are unworthy of a family, friends, and acquaintances.

We are unworthy of the Bible, the gospel, and to be apart of the church.

We are unworthy people but I thank the Lord that even though we are unworthy he still gives us mercy, grace, and kindness.

Jacob, who is the deceiver, enjoyed the mercy of God. I was thinking of Ezra 9:13 of how Ezra stated that God had punished them less than their iniquities deserved. Wow! We can say the same thing.

We, all like Jacob, can say that we are unworthy of the mercy that God gives us.

Mercy never stops its forever. Hallelujah!

The song writer to the Hymn At Calvary said it best when they wrote, "mercy there was great..."

Today bask in the mercy of God. Dwell on his mercy and allow the same mercy to be extended to others.

Let me remind you to whom much is given, much is required. Let's share the same mercy that has been extended to us.

You say, they do not deserve it. Probably not but do you deserve the mercy that you have been given?
